An Accomplished Painter Exhibiting in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia
As a successful painter in the District of Maryland and Virginia, Joan Bevelaqua has made her mark on many aspects of the artistic community. She primarily works in watercolor and oil and has held teaching positions, juried art exhibitions, and directed several galleries. She has also held several organizational positions, including serving as President of the Watermark Gallery in Baltimore, MD, and on the Board of Directors for Foundry Street Studios and Gallery in Savage, MD.
A Talented Artist
Joan Bevelaqua's artistic talents earned her a B.A. in Art from the Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA, and an M.F.A in Painting from Towson University in Towson, MD. Additionally, she studied Advanced Watercolor with John Stuart Ingle at the University of Minnesota in Morris, MN, and Computer Graphics at the Catonsville Community College in Catonsville, MD.
Joan's art has been widely exhibited throughout the area. She has had several one-person shows at a variety of Washington, D.C. art galleries, including at The Capitol Hill Art League. She has also had shows at the Howard Community College in Columbia, MD, at The George Meany Center for Labor Studies in Silver Spring, MD, and at the Art League at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA. Her work is also featured in the Gallery "Arts On Main"

Award-Winning Art
Joan's work has earned her numerous awards and honors. This includes First Place Awards from several Baltimore Watercolor Society-sponsored shows and the Juror's Choice Award from the Maryland Federation of Art sponsored show, "Art on Paper."
Current Success
